Julia JS
Composer, Performer, Educator: A Holistic Model of a 21 st-Century Music Professional. Ukrainian composer and songwriter Yuliia Ilina, known by her stage name as Christian singer Julia JS, is rapidly continuing her musical career in the United States. Her music inspires and helps maintain faith in God. Yuliia Ilina demonstrates the modern model of a professional musician and spiritual values in life. After just three years of professional work in the US music industry, Yuliia Ilina has become the Music Director and President of JS Studios in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There, she passionately shares her professional knowledge with the next generation of musicians. JS Studio, led by Yuliia Ilina, has a well-deserved reputation. The studio has already trained over 150 students, offering piano and synthesizer classes, guitar classes, vocal lessons, and a composition course for aspiring composers. Yuliia Ilina also conducts professional master classes and conferences and organizes themed music concerts, such as "Mother`s Day" and "Thank You" in 2023. "What is Love," "I am a Child of God," and "Christmas Blessings" in 2024. "Joy," "Happy Father's Day," "Believe and Love," "Harvest," and "Sweet Memories of Christmas" in 2025. Where students of the JS studio perform, invited contemporary artists, and Yuliia Ilina herself also performs as a leading vocalist and pianist. At the same time, Yuliia Ilina is working on a Christian album of her own. She has already recorded three original songs at a recording studio in the US and filmed three music videos for them. These songs are "Thank You" (2023), "I trust You" (2024), and "Where no one..." (2025). At the same time, each of her musical compositions is a masterpiece of musical art. As a composer, Yuliia Ilina expertly utilizes the innovative sounds of modern instruments in her compositions, combined with classical polyphony, to convey the artistic image more effectively. This makes her music unique and special, combined with the artistic lyrics of her original songs. At the same time, the melodies are easily memorable and become favorite hits for listeners. Yuliia Ilina's original song "Thank You," written in the USA, won first place in her performance at the prestigious International Folklore Competition in Iowa, the American-European Holding in Culture and Arts, on January 12, 2026. Despite her constant busy schedule and immersion in her professional career as a contemporary musician, Yuliia Ilina finds time to volunteer weekly as a worship leader at a Christian church in Philadelphia, using her musical gift and extensive experience as a musician in the spiritual world to pray and worship God. Before moving to the United States, Yuliia Ilina had been successfully developing her musical talent and professional career as a musician since 2000. It was in Ukraine that she wrote her first original songs: "Daughter," "Childhood," "Little Miracle," "God is Love" (recorded in two versions in two languages), and "I glorify the One God!" Yuliia Ilina's professional teaching career also began in Ukraine, and her students successfully competed in international competitions and took first place. Yuliia Ilina's original song "Childhood," performed by her student Olya Papeta, won first place at the Two-Round International Multi-Genre Arts Festival-Competition "Spring Fantasy" in the nomination "Original Song" in 2024. Yuliia Ilina's original song "God is Love," performed under the pseudonym of Christian singer Julia JS, won first place in the International Song Competition "Alley of Stars of Ukraine" in the "Original Song" category in 2024. Yuliia Ilina doesn't strive to live up to the image of a pop star, nor does she pursue fame and recognition. For her, creating music is a way to express her gratitude to God and reveal her inner self, as she truly is, without any pretense. Yuliia Ilina's musical talent, determination, and hard work make a significant contribution to the contemporary world of musical art. Yuliia Ilina goes beyond isolated roles and demonstrates in practice a modern model of a professional musician of the 21st century and connects artistic creativity (composition), professional performance (performance), and the important exchange of knowledge (education), which includes improvisation, digital platforms, and social impact. This model views these roles as interrelated, with teaching influencing performance and performance inspiring composition. Why This Model Matters Interconnectivity: Fosters a feedback loop where skills from one area enhance the others (e.g., teaching deepens performance understanding). Relevance: Prepares musicians for careers that increasingly demand multiple skill sets, digital literacy, and entrepreneurial spirit. Identity: Moves beyond the traditional "teacher vs. performer" conflict to a unified, integrated professional identity.
